DRUG KING AND QUEEN TAKEN DOWN

Tied Down: Cheryl Cwele and Frank Nabolisa better start getting used to this new outfit.
Sheryl Cwele and her co-accused Frank Nabolisa were both found guilty for getting involved with drug dealings acquiring two women to do their work.  Charmaine Moss was told to collect drugs in Turkey, and to asking another woman, Tessa Beetge, to smuggle cocaine from South America. Her and Frank were both found guilty and sentenced to prison for 20 years, read more.
Late last year a South African woman, Nobanda Nolubabalo, was caught smuggling cocaine in her dreadlocks by officials at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, read more. The SABC once reported that Nolubabalo is the 12th South African to be caught smuggling drugs in a foreign country. According to ‘’Eye witness news’’ the number of people smuggling drugs and that are caught and imprisoned in foreign countries is increasing every month.
In today’s environment everyone is thirsty and desperate for wealth. Most of us are even willing to risk our lives and others to just to be successful in anything that we put our mind too.
Well think about it, is it really worth it? Yes South Africa is facing a great deal of poverty, crime and unemployment but in this case it is not really about the three possible reasons mentioned above. It is actually about greedy and selfish people.
The rather list:
·         Rather have bread with butter than a platter from a fancy restaurant
·         Rather have a four roomed house than a penthouse that is partially furnished
·         Rather have a car that takes you from point A to point B than have it repossessed after three months
·          Rather start appreciating the simple and free things of life and start realising that all of this is pricless.
Life is good. Live it.

TOO MUCH FREEDOM

Regretful: Kiss and make-up please, for the countries sake.

Sarafina is a well-known South African musical that depicting students involved in the Soweto riots, in opposition to apartheid, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarafina!_(film) It was a musical that instilled hope and courage in many black South Africans hearts during apartheid era.
What they cried and fought for is taken for granted and seems to be forgotten. Today many people fail to understand and admire the struggle and hardship that took place in the past.
Here we are in a country where there so much anger and hatred towards one another. 18 years ago the country was in awe of the countries first black president, Nelson Mandela. yes the past is the past, but the past is the only thing that can help us go on with life.

for the past few months the country has watched the ex ANC youth leader Juluis Malema criticise  the president of South Africa Jacob Zuma.

Jacob Zuma has never been recorded saying anything about Julius or reacting to his ridiculous outburst.  The  country must be proud. we can no longer sit back and watch, freedom has been granted let us live in that moment

A GRANDMOTHERS WORST NIGHTMARE

NO MEANS NO FINISH AND KLAAR: Picture by bangsandabun.comy

bangsandabun.comy Rape is any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person; unfortunately that’s what this 83 year old grandmother had to go through, read more.
Three men allegedly broke into an elderly women’s home Friday evening, demanding money. When the frail grandmother told them that she did not have the money, she was brutally gang raped by three men aged between 22 and 37.
The men then left her in a devastating condition, but she managed to call the neighbours for help and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Fortunately the men have been arrested and will appear in court on Tuesday.
The fact that the ex ANC (African National Congress) youth leader, Julius Malema has no respect whatsoever for the president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma. He is seen as a role model, husband, father, the head and leader of his country but still little respect from the media and other leaders is given to him.
The question is how are the young people of this generation suppose learn how to give out respect to elderly people when their own leaders have failed too.
This is a wakeup call to the country that needs to be answered immediately. How many more people still need to die from crime, how many more people still need to live in fear of getting raped, kidnapped and killed?
It is time for the country to hear and read about interesting, fun and fascinating stories. It is time for change.

SILENT TROOPERS

PEACE SIGN:  lets change the world
When last did you bump into a deaf person, still seen as a taboo?. First reaction from most people is shame, concern and uncertainty. According to the 2001 South African census, approximately 20 percent of all disabled people in South Africa have a hearing loss (read more).
Earlier this weerk Police minister Nathi Mthethwa said that "instead of the police officers relying on external registered interpreters, he would like for them to be well-trained police interpreters and improved statement writing as well to ensure that most members of society are cated for" (read more).
‘’when victims report crimes, they must not be compromised through wrong interpretations and badly-written statements, as well as misunderstanding of their experiences’’ Mthethwa said.
This is absolutely a wonderful idea that should be implemented throughout the country whether it is government or private sectors. If this is achieved it could help increase convictions and diagnosis at hospitals etc.
Associations  such as SANDA (South African National Deaf Association) is dedicated to providng quality services, ensuring that public accessibly and increasing awareness of issues affecting deaf  people at all levels in South Africa (read more) .

TEACHER VS LEARNER SMACKDOWN

Learners empty void :
picture reference
A video has surfaced showing a male teacher assaulting a female pupil, that was recorded by one of the classmates at Hoerskool Patriot Mpumalanga, watch video.

The assault took place last week where it shows the teacher walking towards the learner and starts kicking and smacking her. The pupil started defending herself but failed  to as the teacher overpowered her. Almost close to the end of the video, it shows the teacher grabbing the pupils hair and fellow classmates had to separate them.

Corporate punishment has been banned in South Africa for over a decade now, and the same disciplinary tactics are still used in South Africans schools, read more.

Teachers are taught the difference between punishing and disciplining a child and clearly what this "so called teacher" did was  absolutely disgusting and stone cold cruelty. Parents drop off their kids at school expecting  the teachers to give them guidance, help them gain knowledge and provide them with discipline where its  necessary but not to beat their children up.

Yes, learners could be disrespectful but their other alternatives that teachers should consider, such as:
  1. reporting the matter to the headmaster
  2. send the learner out and speak to them privately after class
  3. grant the pupil detention
  4. request to speak to the learners parents by calling them for a meeting
More and more videos must be taken in class as well as children must report these incidents  in order for the South African teachers to get a wake up call; that corporate punishment is not allowed.

FATEFUL DAY IN MARIKANA

violence among humanity: Picture by view picture
More than 34 people died as South African police opened fire on Thursday 16 August against hundreds of striking miners armed with sticks, machets and spears at Lonmin's Marikana platinum mines.

The protesters died demanding better working hours conditions, such as:
  1. compensation for risk when they work underground
  2. a salary increase of up to R12 500
It has been reported that ten people, including two policemen and two mine security officers have died in nearly a week of fighting between rival worker faction at the mine, read more.

It is extremely disappointing to see how certain issues in South Africa have been handled in the past and now present. there was a huge strike that took place earlier this year, throughout the whole country against the e-tolling system and no one had died, read more.

Lives needed to be shredded in order for the government to take control of this issue.how is one suppose to feel protected by their own government and police force when all they want is for the problem to end, but yet again, where the police officers expected to stand there while hundreds of angry came marching down towards them with weapons?

what we all can take from this is that violence is never the answer to sort out differences. let us move from this with a positive and different outlook on life and that every decision that we make has own benefits, responsibilities and consequences.

WOMENS DAY MY FOOT

Marching on: read more

Being South African women has its own ups and downs. More than 20 000 women marched to the union buildings to deliver a petition to the Prime minister of that JG Strijom about the impositions (find another word) of pass laws in South Africa. read more

Well this march took place more than 50 years ago, and has anything changed yet? Today’s generation fail to learn and understand the significant struggle and shame that women in South Africa had to go through to insure that women had equal rights and opportunities as men.
But instead they strive to get the latest trends, designer labels, becoming socialites and sex symbols. Forgetting where their mothers, grandmothers and ancestors come from and fought for.

Annual campaigns and awareness’s spread throughout the country such as breast cancer, women and children abuse, women’s day, mother’s day and so forth, should remind the society of the important role that women play in the lives of others.

Young girls forget about being a miss party, a taxi queen or even a gold digger. There is something special that you carry with you that no other men may undermine, but it’s the fact that you are the mother of the nation; you determine how the future would be look like.
So ask yourselves, is this where I am supposed to be?

Happy women’s year to all the beautiful women of South Africa.
