A video has surfaced showing a male teacher assaulting a female pupil, that was recorded by one of the classmates at Hoerskool Patriot Mpumalanga,watch video.

The assault took place last week where it shows the teacher walking towards the learner and starts kicking and smacking her. The pupil started defending herself but failed  to as the teacher overpowered her. Almost close to the end of the video, it shows the teacher grabbing the pupils hair and fellow classmates had to separate them.

Teachers are taught the difference between punishing and disciplining a child and clearly what this "so called teacher" did was  absolutely disgusting and stone cold cruelty. Parents drop off their kids at school expecting  the teachers to give them guidance, help them gain knowledge and provide them with discipline where its  necessary but not to beat their children up.

 Yes, learners could be disrespectful but their other alternatives that teachers should consider, such as: 

1. reporting the matter to the headmaster 
2. send the learner out and speak to them privately after class
3. grant the pupil detention
4. request to speak to the learners parents by calling them for a meeting

More and more videos must be taken in class as well as children must report these incidents  in order for the South African teachers to get a wake up call; that corporate punishment is not allowed.
